Cookie Policy

Last updated: June 15, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how BeatUnity uses cookies and similar technologies when you access or use the Platform. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy .

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website or use an online service. Cookies help the Platform function properly, improve user experience, remember preferences and provide information about how the Platform is used.

2. Who Is Responsible?

The controller responsible for the use of cookies is:

XYO, operating under the trade name BeatUnity
Heidebloemstraat 10
3500 Hasselt, Belgium
Company number: 0748.753.094
[email protected]

3. Types of Cookies We Use

3.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are required for the Platform to function and cannot be disabled. They do not require your consent:

  • A session/authentication cookie, used to keep you signed in.
  • A CSRF token cookie, used to protect forms against cross-site request forgery.
  • A bu_consent cookie, used to remember your cookie preferences for up to one year.
  • A short-lived (60 minute) ref cookie, used to attribute referrals when you arrive via a referral link.

3.2 Analytics Cookies

BeatUnity uses PostHog, a privacy-focused, EU-hosted product analytics tool, to understand how the Platform is used so we can improve it. These cookies are only placed after obtaining your consent.

When you accept analytics cookies, PostHog may collect information such as:

  • pages visited and session duration;
  • navigation behaviour and interactions on the Platform;
  • device and browser information;
  • your account identifier, where you are logged in.

We do not use session replay or screen-recording technology — PostHog only records page views and interaction events, never the content of pages or input fields.

4. If You Decline

If you decline analytics cookies, no cookies or browser storage are used by PostHog in your browser.

BeatUnity may still record anonymised, aggregate usage signals from our servers (such as which pages are visited) to operate and improve the Platform. These records are not linked to your account and do not create a personal profile.

5. Other Processing Not Covered By This Banner

Independently of the choices above, BeatUnity's servers process certain operational and business data tied to your account (such as bookings and platform usage records) to provide the Platform and run our business. This processing is described, along with its legal basis, in our Privacy Policy .

6. Consent and Managing Your Preferences

Where required by applicable law, BeatUnity will obtain your consent before placing non-essential cookies. You may withdraw or modify your cookie preferences at any time:

7. Managing Cookies via Your Browser

You may also manage, block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Please note that disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality, performance and user experience of the Platform.

8. Changes to This Policy

BeatUnity may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Platform, by email or through other reasonable means. Continued use of the Platform after such changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Cookie Policy.
